Re: source for YPVS original connectors

Thank you for sharing your connector source and the necessary links to make up the connectors. I have made note in my documentation and bookmarked the links. Glad to hear that they everything you expected and will work as hoped. Nice to know they also have the CDI connector parts.

Don't know if you are aware of how rare :!: these two parts are. Be prepared to pay some good money to procure them, if any become available... Good luck!

Re: Not dead ….yet🤣. Engine reassembly

For reference, the part number is 90560-25259 and is located in the "clutch" section (C12) of the fiche as item #12 - shows that a quantity of two is required. http://www.rz500.net/RZ%20500%20REFERENCE/MICROFICHE_1.pdf In case anyone else is looking for this part and they still appear to b...

Re: Catastrophic server failure

I was just trying to access the Owner's Group Parts List Lookup list without success - has it been lost in the last failure or will it be accessible in the future? https://www.rzrd500.com/parts/allentries.php Shows the message - Failed to connect to MySQL: Access denied for user 'parts'@'localhost' ...

Re: Rear footpeg interchangability?

I may be wrong but based on the first three digits (47X or 51X) of the part numbers for the left passenger foot peg (47X-27430-00 or 51X-27430) and the right passenger foot peg (47X-27440-00 or 51X-27440-00), I'm guessing the passenger foot pegs are a RD/RZ/RZV 500 item only. Hopefully someone else ...

Re: RZ500 Rear (Upper) Piston Part Numbers

When I ordered mine a few years ago, it was part number 47X-11635-00-00 and the rings were 47X-11610-10-00 for .25mm oversize.

Here's the original link (I guess it's been almost ten years ago...) viewtopic.php?t=11544

Good luck.

Let us know what the quality of the Yambits switch is like if you go ahead and order it. I've heard various opinions and would like to see how their latest offering compares to the OEM switch - Thanks!

Re: Swing arm protector

Though I have not validated it, the KTM part number for the swing arm buffer is 50304066110. I believe it works with a 520 chain and would need modification for the OEM 530 size chain... Here are some links of interest - https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/detail/ktm/50304066110/b1526230 https://ma...

Re: Poor sparks on front cylinders

Absolutely do not use a compressor - Look for 5 psi for 5 minutes for the pressure test. A loss of no more than 1 psi is considered acceptable (though I'd still see if you can locate the leak with soapy water). Exception is when the crank seal on the primary side leaks, it is hard to find until the ...

Re: Poor sparks on front cylinders

Correct - no gasket, just the Yamabond. My apologies for not clarifying. For the vacuum test, you can use a brake bleed hand vacuum pump with a gauge - induce the amount of vacuum and see that it holds or goes down no more than the minimum allowable amount. Always best to test the vacuum pump/gauge ...

Re: Poor sparks on front cylinders

As for proper orientation of the reed cage assembly - http://rzv500r.net/Workshop_Manuals/47X-Manual/Engine_Overhaul/index.html#img=47X_Page_114.jpg The leakage you are experiencing is very common and shows up during leak-down testing. Problem can be solved with a thin coat of Yamabond on the leakin...

Re: RZV500R Indicators

If you don't need (or can't find) Yamaha OEM versions, these are a good alternative to part numbers 51L-83310-20-00 and 1VW-83310-00-00: https://www.vividracing.com/-p-153884290.html A bit of searching on ebay will get you better pricing. These are plug & play - no mods to the supplied connector...
