Re: Silencieux 500 rdlc

During your search keep in mind that 47X bikes and 1GE bikes have different pipes and silencers.

And yes, if you do plan to visit again, a short introduction is always nice.

Re: RZ500 engine in R3??

Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it. I expect you could buy a new R3 and a new R7 cheaper than buying an R3 and a rebuilt RD500 motor and then doing endless modifications to the R3 trying to make it all work. When you're done you'd likely find it all very disappointing. It sounds li...

Re: Engine start problem after TSI mods

Rotate the engine until TDC and give it a good solid kick.

Re: The Burning Question...?

I've had no issues with DOT 5. (not to be confused with DOT 5.1 which is only 70% silicone and still hygroscopic like DOT 3 and DOT 4). I've been using it in one of my bikes for 10 years. Switching to DOT 5 after a full brake system overhaul is ideal, and that includes new brake lines. That is the o...

Re: The Burning Question...?

Greetings Gentlemen. I would like to share with you to a supplier here in North America that stands out as one of the most complete and comprehensive sources I've encountered. This remarkable provider has become a game-changer for my motorcycle refurbishing ventures. What truly sets them apart is t...

Re: VJ22/RG500

So, based on your evidence everyone else is erroneous and your guy is the only one that is right?

You do understand how you've just produced evidence that shows everyone else is doing just fine and you are the one with the problem, right?

Re: The Burning Question...?

Well said Mike, and the point Tacky1 and I were trying to make. It's subjective to the intended purpose, but by no means are forged pistons to be avoided based on biased opinions by those who have never used them, or who have and been reckless with their use.

Re: The Burning Question...?

John you should have said this earlier and saved all the time praising Wiseco. The OEM pistons no need for warming like the Wiseco It's clear now that all you are here for is to argue. Why be here if you have nothing positive to offer? You never post anything that is helpful. Once again George, sto...

Re: The Burning Question...?

You can use first generation TZR250 pistons. Use for upper and lower cylinders. But again you are limited to max 0.50 O/S.

Re: The Burning Question...?

Why not use OEM Yamaha pistons. The same thing happen with the 911 engines. Folks were using 911 Arias pistons simply they were cheaper. It was a poor substitute for the OEM Mahle pistons. No substitute for OEM pistons The obvious answer is that isn't always possible because Yamaha only make piston...

Re: The Burning Question...?

It's a forged piston problem. The pistons warm up easily. The problem is they warm up faster than the bore and if you are impatient you'll get a 4 corner seizure because the piston is now too big for the bore. Take some time to properly warm the engine and then proper bore to piston clearances are m...

Re: The Burning Question...?

I heard complains on Bill Wilson engines. I sat in a conversation with Bill Wilson and Brian Turfrey. Bill kept trying to get specs on Brian’s pipes. Brian was not going for it. The interesting part was when Brian was building an RZ500 engine. Brian called Bill Wilson and asked Bill on Gus cranks w...

On my previous threads here. I never mention Brian once. Really? You forced yourself into this discussion and gave the O.P. attitude while bringing Turfrey into it. https://www.rzrd500.com/500phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=17251&hilit=turfrey&start=15 And here https://www.rzrd500.com/500phpBB3/view...
