The selector shaft was bent on mine.
2nd to 6th were fine, but it used to jump straight out of 1st from 3000 revs onwards.
New shaft did the trick.

Re: Fuel Stabilizers
I tried a fuel stabiliser this winter for the first time. My 98 R1 hated it. Needed fresh fuel to start. I've left fuel in it before for abt 9 months with no stabiliser and it was fine. My RD wasn't bothered, although strange cloudy white droplets of something were in the fuel when I drained the car...

Re: Aleser Racing Expansion Chambers
Beware buying these. Someone on the RZ/RD500 Facebook page has bought a set and the build quality is so shoddy. Nothing lines up and the top 2 exhausts are different lengths, meaning that one pokes out longer than the other one. None of the brackets are in the right place. The manufacturer (in Thsil...

I know that a lot of the RGV250 fraternity use PJ Motorcycle Engineers in Wolverhampton with some success. The website is: https://www.pjme.co.uk/

Re: Dyna Tek Coils
Yeah, it's DC11-1 that I have fitted.
I must have seen -01 somewhere but it's -1 on their website and on the box.
Cheers.

Re: Dyna Tek Coils
Yeah, the dyno event was resistor type plugs but non resistor plug caps.

Re: Dyna Tek Coils
Hi, I ran it with resistor plugs and non resistor plug caps and that's what caused poor running. In the end, I threw on an old standard coil and the problem went away. The Dynatek coils are only a few years old and have hardly done any mileage so I'd like to keep them if I can. A mate of mine took h...

Re: Dyna Tek Coils
What mine don’t have is resistor plug caps. I think that’s why I’ve been having issues. I’ll get some resistor caps and try again.
Cheers.

Re: Dyna Tek Coils
Cheers @tacky1. Can I ask what HT leads you are using with them? Also, are your plug caps the 'resistor' type?

Dyna Tek Coils
Hi all, For the past few years, I've had DynaTek coils fitted to my bike. The code for them is DC11-01 and the specs are at this link: http://www.dynatekuk.com/sport_bikes_ignition_coils.html At 0.5 ohms, the primary resistance is just below the spec shown in the workshop manual, ie 0.67 ohms =/- 20...

Re: Engine loses power on hills/ long straights
I had a similar issue with my RD. After winter, it went on its first run out - I changed nothing at all through the winter. For the first 10 miles, it went really well. Then it would start to struggle then not pull through the rev range cleanly at all. Changed all 4 plugs, same issue. I suspected it...

Re: Need Solid Bush!
Ha ha, that was me!
I was going to ask a friend for a good set as mine are attached to my bike!
Is there anyone here that would be willing to send me/Yambits as good set of collars and bushes so that they can use these as a reference?
Cheers.

Re: Need Solid Bush!
I’ve contacted MCT and unfortunately they no longer have these parts made. They have had issues with sub contracting work out so only sell what they can make in house. I have emailed www.yambits.co.uk today with pictures from the parts catalogue and the Yamaha part numbers. I’ve asked them if they’d...

Re: Need Solid Bush!
Hi,
You're right, MCT only sorted the nylon bushes for me as my collars are ok. But it's worth a phonecal to see if he or a workshop near him can make the collars.
