Re: Wheel and Fork Conversion
Hello Simon that should work fine. The whole front end fits straight in. Steering lock is slightly reduced and the bars do come close to the tank and had to grind a little off the clamp where the bottom bolts screw into. I would go for the 600 Fazer swingarm though which is ally as the thundercat on...

Re: Wheel and Fork Conversion
Hello Simon, I fitted yzf600 thundercat complete front end. Dropped straight in but you have to slightly move the oil and water expansion tanks to allow bottom triple clamp to pass. Have a look at mine in Members rides - Rich’s modified rd500. I also used Fazer 600 swing arm with suspension arms mod...

Hi
I used these - Powerhouse on 01246 260665. They did my calipers and did a good job and included new bleed nipples.

Re: Back in business - 7 years later
Hi cracking looking bike, been watching this for a while, going to look a beaut when complete. I have used the same seat unit which I have also cut down but not as much as you are planning to do. As you said excellent quality. Rich https://photobucket.com/gallery/user/richmb2/media/cGF0aDovRFNDMDE3O...

Hi Vin
that looks absolutely superb should be a keeper not in your brothers collection, having said that you can go on ride outs together. Would be nice to the two bikes at Glos Bike Nite sometime. Paint work looks superb has it been re-sprayed. Did you have to do any engine work.
regards

Re: Exhaust weight
I put a set of JL GP s/s with titanium cans on my RD500 and the total weight saving was approx. 26lbs. What is noticeable is the loss of weight high up. Existing pipes may have been a bit heavier than brand new as they had 25K miles worth of oil/coke build up so weight reduction possibly not quite a...

Re: Anyone blanked off the anti dive units
I did same as Andy just removed link hoses and installed bolts without the holes. Brakes better and also found that when braking and turning in when bike fitted with working anti dive units bike would try and sit up but with anti dive disconnected this trait seemed to be reduced which is why racers ...

This is what a I love about this forum, people with the passion, skill, dedication and willingness to spend silly amounts of money on these old bikes. They may be dinosaurs but they are beautiful and your red and black bike is absolutely superb. Well done and keep the updates coming.
