Re: 6th gear selection problem

I'm a little late in coming back to this thread. The issue was sorted with a replacement drum. Thanks for everyone's input.

Re: Jumping out of 1st gear and re engages

+1 for a worn selector drum. It only takes one missed gear and the pin on the selector fork hammers the track in the drum.

Re: 6th gear selection problem

I'm at the stage of re-installing the clutch. The thrust washer behind the clutch housing is fitted. https://i.imgur.com/PW6Fv4W.jpg Then the clutch housing and then the thrust washer with the internal spline. https://i.imgur.com/h8KFSWu.jpg However when this thrust washer is pushed home it falls in...

Re: 6th gear selection problem

I had another look at the gearbox and it's operation today. The centre track is for 5th and 6th gear and the wear in the track is right where the dogs begin to engage for 6th gear and thanks to a forum member I have a replacement drum coming next week. I reassembled the box to check end float. Main ...

Re: 6th gear selection problem

Cheers Steve, I won't be able to get back to it until the weekend. I'm not sure whether that indentation is the cause of the problem or a symptom of the peg hammering the track when the dogs were trying to engage, you can see the witness mark in the track where the peg would sit when fully engaged.

Re: 6th gear selection problem

Thanks guys for the replies, I need to sit down with the manual and figure out how the box operates. I have found an indentation in the centre track on the selector drum (see pic), I'm just not sure if this track controls 6th gear. Luther, I'll reassemble each shaft/drum separately and check end flo...

6th gear selection problem

Hi folks, Last weekend, heading out for a ride and not far from home I went to select 6th gear and an almighty racket erupted from the gearbox and I lost drive. Subsequent tests to select 6th resulted in about half being positive and half being as previously described so home I came. On the occasion...

Re: Neutral Light Wire

Hi Linx, I need to remove the gearbox so this wire has to be disconnected, I don't know if the sensor is broken, It's never been removed. What does the Phillips head the screw screw into? Could be difficult to pull on as there is not much room in there and the wire terminal spins with the screw head.

Neutral Light Wire

I'm trying to remove the neutral light terminal at the gearbox, the screw turns as does the terminal with it but does not unscrew. What is stopping it?

Hi Folks,

Has anyone come up with a replacement for the check valves on the 2 stroke oil pump?
