Re: Poor sparks on front cylinders
Wow, you are having some fun and games with this one. If you were in the UK i would lend you all the parts, carbs, cdi, coils etc. to try and eliminate the possible defective ones you have.

Re: Hydraulic clutch
As Ade Sym says the hydraulic clutch actuator is pretty straightforward but the dry clutch is a whole different kettle of fish.

Re: Jim Lomas pipe fit
We had the same issues with the Lomas pipes but fortunately we are a fabrication company so ended up cutting off the Lomas mountings and making our own. We also cut the upper pipes on circumference joints and rotated them to get a good fit and re-welded them.

Re: Attempt at starting-failed
Thank you for your help, after cleaning all connections and earths i now have sparks on 4 cylinders. Just sort the carbs now and make another attempt at starting. Found a very interesting feature in 1 of the carbs. I will take some pictures and post it up at the weekend.

Attempt at starting-failed
Hi all, after many years of acquiring parts and assembling a complete rd500 i attempted to start the beast today, sadly no joy :???: First problem as i have read on here many times over the years was petrol pouring out of the right hand pair of carbs and also dripping out of the tap  . Not to b...

Re: Factory rear stand question
I have to agree with 2manyprjx on the cost of these sort of things. When you make them for yourself you don't really take into account how many hours you spend, i have made lots of little fixtures, stands etc. but could never manufacture and sell them due to the time taken. Almost forgot, the stand ...

Re: RZ500S 1VW Canada 1986
Amazes me that Yamaha would go to all the expense of tooling up for this modification and then just produce 150 modified bikes.

Re: OEM Exhausts Dents
We posted up some pictures back in 2013 but the images don't open any more. Basically we cut patches out of mild steel, brazed them into place and dressed off. Painted with uht paint which gave a finish almost the same as standard.

We could repair that for you depending on where you are located but as others have said probably more cost effective to pick up another carb body.

Re: Frame stripped out. How to?
I didn't realise the nutsert was turning, drill or grind the top of the nutsert off you can knock it into the frame then. Replace with new nutserts. Simple if you have the equipment to do it.

Re: Frame stripped out. How to?
Hi, a small pipe wrench will grip the heads but you may just shear the head off. I would remove them by welding a m6 bolt to the top of the cross head screw and remove that way, easy for us though as we are a welding and fabricating company. You could just drill the head off with a 6mm drill then gr...
