Counting flowers on the wall that don't bother me at all,
Playing solitaire till dawn with a deck of 51,
Smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo,
Now don't tell me, I have nothing to do.

Tom. Is there anyway the Group can open a 'Mickey's Bike Appeal' and let people donate a bit of spare money to assist with the build? Absolutely... just Paypal me a donation amount that you feel you want to kick down for Mickey, and I'll make sure that either Brian is fed what he needs for the buil...

Sorry to hear about your father Tom.....I went down that road 13 years ago and was fortunate to be by my fathers side the last two and half weeks of his time with us.....it was hard but he is in a better place. I don't have much to offer in parts but willing to contribute to a fund if available. Dav...

This was mine before I sold it a couple of years ago. The guy that picked it up from me completed the restoration and did an excellent job on having the paint matched. Maybe PM him for some paint info as I don't see him on here that often. http://www.rzrd500.com/500phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=8450&hi...

Hey Dave, You'll find the carbs are a little bit tortuous to get off the first time you attempt it but practice makes perfect....at least it did for me as I had mine off several times to say the least. When I HAD my 500 I went through the whole bike and learned a hell of a lot from these guys. Great...

Brian,

When I had my bike  I could almost take off the carbs with my eyes closed.

The lower clamps can be accesed from below the radiator and inbetween the frame. I used a 1/4" drive socket wrench with a flex extension and proper size socket.

Good luck with the bike!

I had mine bead blasted then I resprayed with a high temp header paint. Also bead blasting leaves a good texture for the new paint to adhere firmly to. Sprayed about 3-4 coats and looked pretty damn good.

When I did my frame I used PPG / Deltron 2000 base coat covered with a clear. The closest match my paint guy could find was:
OEM: ICO Toyota DBC5557 H Silver.

Some pics here.

Chip, don't hold your breath. He had told me the same response several times.

The mistery box indeed!
