Re: No spark at the plugs.
I did repaint the engine during the rebuild. I used DuPont Centari, which is an old school single stage enamel, and fairly thick. I’ll try a temporary wire from a bare bolt to the battery, I think that would prove that one way or the other.

Re: No spark at the plugs.
Steve, I tightened up the clearance between the rotor and the pickup until it hit, then backed it up a bit. Unfortunately it didn’t help. I’ve got a new pickup on the way, hopefully that will do it.

Re: No spark at the plugs.
Hey Jeff, are you referring to the grounding terminal at the battery box, or a different one?

No spark at the plugs.
I’m hoping someone may have a suggestion regarding no spark at the plugs. I’m putting my bike together after a rebuild, I’m stumped on the ignition. I have tested the coils, primary and secondary sides are within spec. The lower coil had bad wires, and 2 of the caps had high resistance. All 4 now ha...

Re: RZV 500 fuel level sending unit.
Thanks for responding gentlemen! I have a rzv sender unit. I’m going to measure the resistance of the sender from low position to high. Then I will put the temp sender in water and check the resistance at a low temp, maybe 120 f. ,and check it again at maybe 240 f. Whatever it takes to figure out th...

Re: RZV 500 fuel level sending unit.
Hi Matty, I’m finally going to attempt this fuel sender modification to the tank. By any chance do you still have the pictures that used to be posted here?
I have the sender, but I’m trying to get an idea of what the hole in the bottom of the tank looks like and how the sender fastens to it. Thanks !

Re: Auto lube gears?
So I figured out what I was doing wrong. I had to get the lever on the end of the kick starter assembly up above the angled bracket that bolts right next to the bore that the shaft of the assembly sits in. This allows the ratchet to work when the kickstarter lever turns the shaft.

Re: Auto lube gears?
So if I turn the kick gear idler one way, the kick starter ratchet turns. Turn the other way, and it only turns maybe 20 degrees, until the arm on the kick starter hits against the case. ☹️ The kick starter assembly seems to be put together properly. The end of the shaft fits into the recess in the ...

Auto lube gears?
Ok, I’m stumped on this Autolube pump. I installed the driveshaft for the pump, along with all the washers, pins, and circlips. But what drives it? I didn’t disassemble the kick starter assembly, so it’s the same as when I took it out years ago. The small toothed gear that is behind the big gear loo...

Re: Not dead ….yet🤣. Engine reassembly
The bottom end of the rods have been ground to a smooth radius. I’m assuming it was for clearance. Personally, I don’t have a problem with a thicker bottom end of the rod. Better more than less. And since my cases have been modified anyway for porting purposes, a little notch is ok. It’s not a stres...

Re: Not dead ….yet🤣. Engine reassembly
So I'm going through all the parts, preparing to assemble the cases, when i came across these seal bushings for the crankshafts. The manual doesn't show these parts (not clearly anyway), and the parts book doesn't show it either as a separate part. Looked online, didn't see anything available, so i ...
