Steve....no ... not Dazzer oddly enough...The only one folllowing Daz is that old Lurcy one thats been there years. That was done with an old JVC strapped to the tank.
He binned it at the hairpin and broke his collarbone badly the last time we were at Cadwell and we've not been anywhere - well together - since....I think he's only done the one trackday after that anyway....A mid-week Silverstone that I couldn't get to.
This year I will be filming all the time....I've had some great sessions with Daz...he's bloody quick but safe. Jezzer is slowly upping his pace again...his problem is too much sex...on top off too fierce brakes and ridiculously poor riding position and inadequate access to controls.
Mr. Jago.....well..we never know what he's doing and where he's going....mind you neither does he most of the time....World of his own.
Anyway, definately doing Oulton Park this year....I love that place....will probably have to do Silverstone with circuit expert Daz....no doubt a few Cadwells....As Mallory Park is only up the road I might have cheap one there.
If its going to be my last year at it I'll bite the bullet and do a Brands full circuit....but Jesus thats expensive.
Hearing lots of Rumours that the guys are all packing it in...The rumour about Jez is he's even selling his bikes....my mate Jim (RG500 guy) has allready given up. I'm getting too old and only go for a laugh anyway....I aint going on my own - thats no fun...well except when the Coalville lot are there at a 2-stroke day or something. |

Well yeah....but things change, and certainly people change. I've got a new toy now...so have you by the looks of it (Mustang).....I'm only giving up the track days ..not the bikes, and not yet either, I've still got the zxr to wear out. I mean I did say IF this is my last year. Personally I cant see it being...but it does depend on others.....I get no satisfaction taking my bike to ride around a track anymore. All my fun comes in the paddock/the banter/the stories/ watching first time guys improve and get excited.
If Jez is getting married and selling his bikes, Ian decides to bog off to his house in France. Jim just feels too old and fat, Jago ..(well yeah..who knows)....well that just Leaves me and Daz. Thats Ok but its not the same as having 6 of you there all on 500's.
My new toy:-

Excellent.....I dont doubt Daz will be dragging us somewhere soon....and that Vid seems to of stirred something in Jez...I'll be messing with the engine again shortly....I've got another secret plan...hehehe
Actually I just thought...I think Ian has rekindled an urge now he's on an RD and not that unreliable fragile pig of an RG he had....so that makes 5 of us...I'm still working on Jim...we have to have 1 RG there.
PS...we dont race...Tut..Tut... |

Daz has just finished his spare engine "plenty of pony's in that one" he's building a second bike.

16 secs....I'm saying nothing....hahaha....it wont bother him, he's about as laid back as you can get and just does his own thing...The best way to be IMO.
We all get different things out of it...I just like a few complete smooth laps with no mistakes, I dont care what the times are and I dont care who passes me....Jez is pretty much the same but has alot less track experience.....Daz tries hard to get quicker and quicker...Jim tries hard just to stay on and not sweat too much...but the one thing in common is we all love farting about with the bikes in one way or another, and then of course talking about it.
The unexpected can always happen...I had a great session last year with a 90's early R1...his R1 was supercharged and was definately fast...we raced each other within reason for 6 or so laps and both came off the track at the end with a right buzz. I swore I would never get into a race like that...but heyho couldn't resist....we had a good old chinwag in the pits and departed good mates..excellent. |
